Chapter-7: Boa of Snake Island

Two hard knocks on the room door forced Diego awake. He stretched and turned to his night stand while another two knocks rattled his hotel room. He looked at his pocket watch as he rubbed his right eye. It was half past three in the afternoon. Another two knocks banged on the door.

“One moment, I’ll be right there,” said Diego with a haggard look on his face. Two more knocks echoed in the room. He coughed a few times to clear his throat as he stepped into his shoes.

“One moment … one moment.” Diego reached the door and opened it half way. His eyes opened wide and a falling feeling filled his stomach. One of the businessmen from his meeting stood before him.

Diego smirked. And in a rushed voice, said: “I knew it was too good to be true.” He shook his head. “What’s the issue? Has there been a mistake? The numbers, the contracts, the schedule, what is it?”

The businessman stood confused for a moment before speaking: “Señor, there is nothing wrong with the business we completed earlier today. All is fine. I only bring a message from the owner of Fajardres Trading Company.”

Diego shook his head and breathed out a sigh of embarrassment.

“My apologies for the false assumptions, how may I be of service?”

The businessman lifted an eyebrow. “The owner would like to have a few words with you, down stairs in the main dining hall. Please, come as soon as you can. There is already a table set and the owner is waiting.”

“Of course, of course,” said Diego, “how rude of me, I’ll … I’ll be ready in a few minutes. Tell him I’m on my way. Please, thank him for his patience and understanding. And, again, excuse my lapse in judgment, señor.”

The businessman glanced over Diego with an amused look. “I’ll deliver your message to the owner, sir. Please, excuse me; I’ll leave you to your preparations.” He flashed an awkward smile and left.

Diego left the room door open as he moved with panicked urgency, and searched through his two suitcases. He opened his second suitcase and found the two bottles of tequila from the business meeting, Puma Blanco and Puma Blanca. He set the two bottles by the door and continued to his armoire.

In haste, Diego changed cloths and sprayed a light scent of forest green cologne over his shoulders. He paused for a moment and stared at his image in the small mirror over the wash basin. Everything is fine, he thought as he hinged forward and washed his face with cold water.

Nothing to worry about, Diego combed his hair and calmed his heart with three deep breaths. Ready. He hurried down stairs with the two bottles of Tequila and hoped, and prayed all was well.

The dining hall stood silent, unnaturally still.

An hour away from opening, the entire dining hall lay empty. Except that is for a table in the middle of the huge room. Two flickering candles stood guard, one in front of the two large silver covering bowls that waited on the table.

Anxiety gripped and simmered within Diego’s face and chest. He searched the hall again and found no one around. Did the owner lose patience and leave? Did I miss something? He stepped closer to the candle lit table.

Another step and Diego froze in place with a rush of jumbled up goose bumps, spreading and re-spreading all over his body.

From behind, a rhythmic click and clack invaded his mind. And, along with it, the curious feeling from the previous day crept up Diego’s spine.  He turned around as though in dream and there, his eyes opened white wide. And, his heart exploded into a barrage of booms in his chest.

Danger, painful torment and pleasure exploded all over his life. The alarm ripped and jumped and thumped in his body. But, it was too late. His hips were caught.

The woman approached him within a lethal glow of seductive lush of fire life.

Beyond his control, Diego consumed her every detail.

Tall, athletic, and with an unbelievable hour glass figure, that woman glided toward him. Deep raven black hair that waved down to her waist; and, her skin glowed with a rich caramel tone. Her face, beyond description; and, after one breath, Diego ached with a pulsating addiction for her slim-thick beauty.

Diego swallowed the dry knots in his throat, and he continued with his addictive image.

Her apple red dress rubbed her and groaned with pleasure as she eased across the hall. Over her shoulders, a plush collard white mink coat. At an angle, she wore a large, flat, wide brim pearl hat; and, she had a large off-white umbrella that matched her pearl necklace. Her ruby lipstick and passion rose perfume poisoned him with more addiction. And, with each step of her pearl white heels, she played her enchantment of clicks and clacks on the hard wood floor. Each step sent hardening goose bumps through Diego’s groin.

The woman entered her banker’s personal space with a smooth smile. She stared at him too, with a starved look across her body. Her sweet breath tickled Diego’s spirit, forcing him to smile painfully. She rubbed her soft hands over Diego’s chest.

She purred at him. And, she said:

“Bessos amor, it’s a pleasure to meet you. Are you hungry? I ordered some empanadas for us to snack on before we go. Come, hombre … come have a seat.”
