The Third Foundational Belief of Consciousness:

Why does consciousness exist in a partitioned-type manner?

     The approximate answer to this question is metaphysically extensive, which I have explored in greater detail with my books on metaphysics. However, the best I can do here is to say that the answer to this question is mainly based on an axiomatic approach and on basic mathematical models of reality. Use more of your suspended disbelief here if needed.

      Here goes the response. Consciousness needs to exist in a partitioned—yet interconnected—state because of three devastating reasons: to avoid an overload of data; to avoid rampant infinite consciousness states of being; and, to allow for the big bang to bang.

      First reason: Suppose consciousness did not exist in a partitioned-type manner with distinct primary labor goals of awareness and connectedness with reality. Then any consciousness aspect in a life form would be stuck in data acquisition (awareness of reality) forever. This is because the entire form of consciousness would be concentrated on one task. As a result, this would mean that decision making, exploration of the world, reproduction and instincts would not be possible. This is because each action, guess, decision or movement in reality would always require a compounding infinite amount of data analysis to process within time.

     In addition, evolution, adaptations and learning would also not be possible. This is because having a one-piece model of consciousness means no division of labor, associated with the connectedness aspect to reality, could exist. Thus, consciousness processing power would not be available for the development of any form of life or any practical time exploration of reality in the universe.

     But life does exist in the universe, which means that consciousness must exist in a partitioned, yet interconnected type of divisions of labor, of awareness and of connectedness to reality. Hence at least three types of divisions of labor must exist in consciousness.

     Second Reason: The current dogma is that consciousness is an emergent property of the universe. However, I assume the opposite. Why? Because it is only an assumption to believe that consciousness—whatever that may be—is only concentrated into one piece.

     Therefore, it is an equally valid assumption to claim that the universe is an emergent property of consciousness. In other words, consciousness is what the universe, space and reality are fundamentally made of. Immediately, this perspective forces a division property that must exist in order for life, reality, space and the universe to exist, which is observed in the real world.

     For example, whenever space (consciousness) becomes too dense in the universe, such as through a super nova or other such event, then a black hole is created. Fortunately, this process of forming such dense regions of the universe (consciousness) is not easy to accomplish. Even so, this is bad because having all of consciousness (space, reality and universe) in one location makes it difficult for life, for reality, for evolution and for the universe to exist and to expand. One way to minimize the probability that consciousness will form into infinite consciousness states of being is to have consciousness exist in a partitioned, yet interconnected manner.

     Third reason: One interpretation of the big bang is that the unified form of consciousness caused the non-physical, the non-space-and-time, the non-material reason for the big bang to bang forth. In other words, consciousness, in the pre-universe, gathered and formed into what would become the universe. Included in that process is a type of separation from the pre-universe, which means a division of consciousness. Hence, the big bang is needed in order to non-unify consciousness into a separate, almost infinitely partitioned state away from the pre-universe. Basically, there is no need for space, time, reality and universe if all of consciousness exists in an infinite state of consciousness.

     This interpretation of the big bang is valid because no human being can know the before reality, the before universe, the before big bang. Hence, I am allowed to choose my choices of axioms of interpretation, with respect to the big bang, the pre-universe and the unified consciousness that existed before the big bang.

3. Why does consciousness exist in a partitioned-type manner?

Consciousness exists in a partitioned-type manner because of three reasons: to avoid an overload of data collection and analysis; to guard against infinite consciousness states; and to allow for the big bang to exist.
