Chapter-16: State of In Between

Diego’s heart wept and his mind ached, as his soul filled with despair; but he continued. He spoke up for what he witnessed, and said, “The women … they drown their unborn children in a river of lust that flows in between their legs. The men … the men do nothing and say nothing. Crippled, they are guided by their lust, blinded by their weakness for wet pleasures, of in between.”

The images stopped and El-Gar and Diego climbed high above the world.

Floating within the light, El-Gar said, “Little cub, we travel farther still into your reach of reality, brace yourself.”

Faster, and faster, they moved within the light. And when they stopped, Diego searched and said:

“It’s 2123, North America, on the west coast of Mexico; and, now, hundreds of other nations blur together under one misguidance. Billions of mothers are weeping. Their cries are horrendous echoes in reality. They suffer in the awareness of their past, in their prideful rejection of family. Humanity is in decline, less than five billion people on Earth. The actions of the past have evolved within humanity. Soulless grays and empty pleasures without responsibility grow and eat away at human consciousness. And, within man the spark of life embers away; and, within woman the acceptance and building of life has died. Anger and hatred and blame grow without bound, eating and decaying the future of all humanity.”

Images blurred faster past Diego’s eyes, blinding and inescapable. At last, they stopped, and Diego witnessed what lay before his sight. He said of his witness:

“It’s 2222, all continents, all nations are silent and gray. The cities are overgrown with grass, plants and trees. The last man on Earth has breathed his last breath and has closed his eyes in Chiapas.

“In the Philippines, the last woman is two minutes from death. Humanity is breathing its last life; it is walking into the death it created out of the worship for … the golden bull of pleasure, of greed and of unbounded arrogance and of technology.”

Nausea and frost swept over Diego. Awareness of his surroundings flickered in and out, slipping away into a quiet numbness of solitude. El-Gar roared, and arcs of light flashed all around their galactic space. Faster they moved. Blue and yellow electricity popped about them in quick branches of tunneling lighting. Thunderclaps ripped and boomed all around. And, in a loud echoing flash they were back on top of the pyramid, under the eclipsed in between state.

Diego coughed up blood. All the old wounds on his body reopened and blood squirted and flowed. A thick layer of sweat and cosmic dirt covered him, mixed with the blood that escaped from his body. An intense heat blinded Diego’s mind, and he lost … he lost himself in the heavy truth of his echoing reality.

Cradled by the light, Diego opened his eyes one at a time. He looked up and he lay in front of El-Gar. A yellow light burned all over Diego’s body as he felt himself being healed.

El-Gar finished the repairs on Diego’s body and mind; and the beast helped him to sit up with a stable flow of energy.

“What was that, El-Gar,” asked Diego, “what did I witness?”

“An echo of reality … what you saw is a coned shaped ring of echoing sinusoidal trajectories, of reality, centered on Earth.”

“Is it final? Our path,” Diego asked with a confused look.

“Like a bouncing ball approaching its rest,” said El-Gar, “Mankind can catch reality mid fall, if swift enough; or, mankind can push the trajectory to another target … if enough individual honesty is willingly practiced … before reality rests into place.”
