Chapter-16: State of In Between
Diego looked up at the eclipse and rubbed his neck, and asked: “Is there enough time to change and save humanity on earth?”
“Difficult for most humans to accept,” said El-Gar, “but, if too much of humanity is lost beyond 2101, it becomes most unchangeable of a course in Earth’s reality, for all.”
Diego thought of the words spoken by El-Gar. His eyes opened wide, and he asked: “Is this my purpose? Am I a messenger, for humanity? Am I to dedicate my life to this message?”
El-Gar yawned and stretched his wings up and wide. He said, “Your memories of the echoes of reality will be shielded within you. Upon returning to your reality, you will only be able to sense this knowledge, this creation. They will go with you; but remain shielded from your waking exploratory consciousness. Even so, you will be able to sense the knowledge and experiences you have gained here, adding to your sense of good and evil. With age, you will acquire enhanced strengths and grow older at a much slower rate than the rest. And, of course, you will gain the gift of echoes: dreams, visions and warnings that you will interpret as stories.”
Diego’s face tensed up. His eyebrows lowered, his neck tightened, and his heart pumped with a frustrating quick rhythm; and, for a tenth of a micro-second, Diego felt the insane need to raise his voice at the very same El-Gar. But one twentieth of a micro-second later, Diego slapped himself away from the foolish mistake of arguing. Instead, he slowed his breathing and regained his equanimity, and asked:
“May I ask a question about life, in general?”
El-Gar gave a side glance at Diego, laughed and said, “A wise move indeed, little cub. Yes, you may ask. I will answer.”
“In general,” asked Diego, “what is the purpose of life?”
El-Gar gazed at the eclipsed sky, shrugged and yawned.
“Life is a web of consciousness,” said El-Gar, “of free-will interconnected supports within reality, within our universe. To be alive in our universe comes at a cost of individual responsibility for reality. Rejecting your debt to reality removes most of this support within our universe; and this loss of support allows you to fall into an opposite universe of reality, void of the balance of life, only centered on death. Thus, to reject this universe, this reality, leads to an individual path of decay, of unawareness and of disconnectedness from all life and truth.”
El-Gar stood and walked to the edge of the pyramid. He looked at the landscape and at the eclipse, and said:
“In general, life is to be lived as your free-will chooses. At the instantaneous moment of conception, you must continue to choose: this universe or its complement. Whichever you choose, you may; but whatever you choose—truth or lie, good or evil—it will always come at a price.”
