Chapter-4: Satisfy Me

Nanda’s head teetered around as she moved to sit under a pecan tree. Up against the pleasant tree, she stretched her arms and tucked her legs, and she drifted away. “Sleeepy, I feel so tired,” she said, “so drained, señor. Please, forgive meeee….”

Sleep crawled all over Nanda. Two deep breaths and she lost herself to dreamless rest, snoring aloud after another long breath.

Luz walked over to her and stared at the rise and fall of her full chest. An unknown heat stirred within his base; it caused him to squat down and to brush long strands of curly hair away from her lips and nose.

A spark of wonder flickered in Luz’s chest. He noticed her. And he stared at her curvy legs, and at her loosened skirt slipping away. He smiled and reached down and adjusted her coat.

Luz looked over his shoulder at the dead men on the ground and exhaled with irritation. He glared at each man for a deep whistle of a tune. What a waste, he thought as he smoothed out his mustache and stood.

“Bury them, Cana. Take them at least five kilometers east of here.”

From behind the pecan tree that Nanda slept against, two barks steamed into the frigid night air. Cana emerged in his solidified form. He approached Nanda and inspected her with his canary yellow eyes. She extended her legs and turned on her side with a groan.

A step closer and Cana leaned in and smelled her rear end. He licked his fangs and nose and considered an idea for a few breaths. Curiosity tilted his head to the side, and he looked her over once more. He barked several times and nodded his head with approval.

Luz shook his head at Cana with a slight frown. The idea surprised him and forced him to look up at the crescent moon. The celestial body pulsed with a soft red light, surrounded by dim concentric rings of bone yellow glow.

“No. You can’t keep her, jovencito. She belongs to me now.”
