Chapter-4: Satisfy Me

Nanda woke up covered in a thin layer of hot sweat. Sparkles of light and shadow danced around her with each blink of her good eye. Dry heat penetrated through the canopy of tall trees, while the powerful afternoon sun moved across the empty blue sky. And, aside from a slight breeze, all was silent and calm.

The aroma of blueberry pancakes and butter, and roasted chicken punched into Nanda’s senses. Maple sweetness and rosemary and thyme gripped her stomach tight, forcing it to growl like an annoyed cougar. She looked to her side and rubbed her stomach and focused on the man from last night.

Luz maneuvered in a squat position between two fires. A plump golden-brown chicken gripped his attention over one campfire, while pancakes cooked in a skillet over another.

She smiled at Luz’s concentrated work. Several giggles escaped her: “The food smells good. I didn’t ….” Her mouth closed tight. Shame and embarrassment whipped into her.

“Perdon, Señor Luz,” said Nanda. “I slept far too long. It should be me, señor—I should be more useful and prepare the food. Let me, help you … ow … Ow … Ouch.” Pain poked into her side and a fat hot pulse called up from her ankle. Nanda reached for her side and winced.

“Their broken,” said Luz, “three ribs on your left side, and your left ankle, that’s broken too.” He removed the roasted chicken from the fire and placed it in a large pot. “I didn’t get a chance to heal you last night.”

Nanda double flinched as she opened her dark-green coat, “My goodness….” She extended her legs out to the side for more balance, unknowingly pushing her piecewise skirt away with her right foot.

“Well, this is just great,” she said. A huge purple bruise on her left side made it painful to breathe.

In the process of inspecting her ribs and ankle, Nanda flashed Luz her plump sweaty breasts. While, down below, she presented her curly-black hair nestled between her legs.

Luz smiled for a breath and continued to work on splitting the chicken into eight pieces.

Nanda closed her coat and gasped. She realized her tied up skirt no longer covered her. It lay by her feet. Embarrassment flushed red over her entire body. And she reached for her skirt quickly and fastened it in place.

“A-amazing, you can heal people,” said Nanda. “That’s unbelievable, señor. Why … why didn’t you heal me while I slept?”
